Having the courage to seek therapy is never easy. One may feel hopeless, vulnerable, frustrated and unable to cope without outside help. While working in an inpatient psychiatric facility, it has allowed me to work extensively with anxiety, depression, bipolar, mood disorders, personality disorders, substance abuse, domestic violence, etc. I work with my clients to identify areas of their life that are causing suffering, collaboratively identifying effective ways to manage and reduce emotional pain. I utilize both warmth and validation with evidence-based behavioral change strategies.

I believe in utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered, trauma informed therapy and strength based approaches. I am very approachable and sincerely care about helping you gain clarity and insight while progressing towards developing the skills necessary to independently problem solve in the future.

I believe in supporting my clients through all of life’s real and perceived challenges. Everyone needs someone to talk to- someone to help process feelings, emotions, experiences and events. A life worth living looks different from one person to the next and I enjoy helping people navigate this discovery. I help clients look at where they are, where they truly desire to be, and help search their soul to determine what they are willing to do to achieve their life worth living.

I strongly believe that a therapist and client should fit well together. A natural, trusting relationship is key to effective therapy. I work from a skills based perspective using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt and Existential Therapy. I have experience with SPMI, dual diagnosis, and utilize trauma informed care.

Sometimes the work is hard but the journey is worth it for a healthier, happier, and more productive and peaceful existence. Working together, we will lay the foundation for effective and lasting growth.

Whether you are just starting your mental health journey or looking for a change to your current pursuit, it takes courage to seek support. Taking the step to seek that support is commendable. My objective as a psychotherapist is to create and hold a space where my clients feel safe to present as their authentic selves. Regardless of background and personal circumstances, I strive to empower my clients to utilize their unique lived experience to cultivate peace in the present moment and tools to successfully navigate the road ahead.

I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in neuroscience in 2016. Post-bachelorette, I spent 5 years working in research at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. I returned to school amidst the pandemic in response to the increased need for providers and graduated summa cum laude with my masters in clinical mental health counseling in 2023. I completed my master's internship at UNMC Counseling and Psychological Services where I had the opportunity to work with graduate and medical students. During this time, I started integrating neuroscience into treatment planning. I have found this evidence-based approach resonates well with my clients because they can better understand the way that they respond to their environment and how their internal processing frames the way in which they view the world.

My approach accounts for the continuing expansion and understanding of control we have over our well-being. This approach includes a scientifically supported foundation for clients to not only take back control of their life but also acquire skills that may be necessary to navigate the road ahead.

The stories we create, or have been told, about who we are as individuals have a strong influence on our daily lives. They affect our habits, our relationships, our self-concepts, and our choices.

These narratives can empower, or they can imprison.

Our stories, however, are not written in stone, and no endings are predetermined. At Revision Psychotherapy, I am committed to helping you tell your story, examine your story, and, if necessary, reframe your story. My goal is for you to achieve a sense of autonomy — to be the author of your own life story rather than a character in it. I believe that every person has within themselves the power to change, to rewrite their story.

I have a diverse background of clinical experience, in both outpatient and acute inpatient psychiatric settings. I love working with clients who are navigating life transitions, such as emerging adulthood (ages 20-30), marriage, pregnancy and postpartum, divorce, grief and loss. I have experience working with many different mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and personality disorders.

I believe attention to our mental wellbeing is a crucial component of overall wellness. I focus on assisting my clients in achieving optimal health. To do this I put great value on establishing and maintaining a therapeutic relationship with my clients. I believe I owe my clients respect, empathy, honesty, and a safe place to be heard. I believe we are continuously evolving and learning more about ourselves. This ride can be challenging, and I am honored each time I am able to join someone on their journey.

I strive to be multiculturally competent. I enjoy connecting with people and learning about their unique experiences. I have worked in inpatient settings along with a community counseling clinic. Goals for myself include ongoing education and staying current with the latest evidenced based therapies.

I look forward to hearing from you and joining you on your path towards optimal health.
